The Lavender Guest House was a lovely place to stay in London on my first trip there. It's a very cozy, homey place on a quiet residential street. Tony was very friendly and helpfully told me the best ways to go to visit the places I had in mind for the day. Such a breath of fresh air from the impersonal treatment you tend to get at chain hotels. The location has good transit access (only a 5 minute walk from Clapham Junction - no Tube access though, yet), but it may take you a bit longer to get to popular tourist sites than if you were staying in the center of the city, so you'll want to factor that in when considering your time. A good balance between being close enough to the center but still far enough out for some peace and quiet. I highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again the next time I visit London!
A clean, quaint place to stay the night before conveniently walking to the Clapham Junction train station the following morning. The owners did a great job communicating the process to make an easy check-in and check-out.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and all ameneties were provided. Tony was very welcoming and ensured that our stay was as pleasant as possible. Will recomment to anyone. The location is also perfect and safe. Very close to the train station, the bus stop and places to eat.
3rd time Ive stayed here. An excellent Guest House, very clean and tidy. Rooms have the use of 2 kitchens and dining areas, and unusually for London access to a small garden. A short walk to Clapham Junction train station. The single rooms are small, but larger than some rooms Ive stayed at in London.
I can't say enough how great the place was to me and my family. Tony and Lisa were great hosts. They were very kind and flexible with our schedules for both checking in and checking out. The room was spacious, warm, and clean with hot shower. The location was perfect with so many options for food. It is close to a grocery store, bus stops, and a train station (Clapham Junction) all within walking distance. We will definitely plan to stay at Lavender Guest House when we come to London next time.
High value for money. Spaceous room. Central location to Clapham Junction and our event, multiple breakfast places around, no-nonsense guesthouse. Clean and comfortable, only a light smell in the bathroom. A bottle of water in the room would have been nice, as the tap water didn't taste very nice.
A wonderful guest house run by a lovely, welcoming family. Although it is based in busy Clapham Junction, it wasn’t noisy at all. Everything is very clean, and my bed was huge. I loved the two kitchens, especially the one overlooking the outdoor space. I will definitely come back — a little gem!
Excellent in so many ways! Location, comfort, service. The room was large for London standards and very well laid out. The bed was comfortable and the room, including ensuite was veryclean. The Guest house is within minutes walk of buses, trains, supermarkets and great Cafes. Couldn’t have asked for anything else. We were very happy guests and well looked after. Will be back the next time we visit family and grandkids.
